Overlooked by the southern peaks of the Grampian Mountains, the long fingers of the Angus glens, a series of tranquil valleys penetrated by single-track roads, offer some of the most rugged and majestic landscapes of northeast Scotland.

Day I Found It

After a beautiful day walking in the Angus Glens with my wife and friends, we stopped off at The Retreat café. It has a lovely gift shop and excellent café and menu. It is also supported by a superb museum about life in the glens through its history. All in all, it's a wonderful stopping place for refreshments after a good mornings walking.
