Originally built to offer the local inhabitants an alternative to the pub, the old library now houses a quaint tearoom with soaring, exposed wooden ceiling, an old sandstone and tile fireplace – complete with roaring log fire and rough wooden floor. We serve homemade soup and crusty bread, a range of sandwiches made to order or a filling cheese ploughman's platter. For dessert you can choose from our selection of homemade cakes, scones and Scottish shortbread and tablet, plus we have a wide selection of organic herbal teas, rich Illy coffee and organic lemonade and fruit juices.

Day I Found It

We will always remember the day we saw our first pair of golden eagles and discovered the quaint Library Tearoom near Rob Roy McGregor’s grave in the village of Balquhidder. By a soaring log fire we enjoyed home baked scones. We returned each day after walking the banks and braes of Loch Voil to sample as much of the delicious fare as we could manage. Our autumn break in the Trossachs was unforgettable. The scenery was breathtaking and the tearoom was the icing on the cake! To this day my wife still says theirs was the best carrot cake ever.
