This picturesque lochside village sits on the eastern banks of Loch Tay, and makes great use of its waterside location.  The quaint main street includes the village church with elegant clock tower, early 19th century Taymouth Castle - now a private golf club, and Scotland's oldest inn, the Kenmore Hotel.

Day I Found It

Rounding the corner to the Tay Bridge at Kenmore, having experienced the autumn reflections on Loch Rannoch, the River Tay and the trees outside Kenmore Church, we parked in the square outside the historic 16th century Kenmore Hotel with its Burns poem. We walked our granddaughter past the Post Office, downhill a few steps towards the beach and found the old Chapel. Delight in the eyes our youngster as we opened the door to a fascinating Xmas display. But for us the tea, coffee, cakes and soft drinks were a must within the ambience of the setting.
