Day I Found It

As a youngster in the late 50's & 60's, as a very special treat we would break our journey from St. Andrews to my grandparents farm near Carluke with a stop at the Powmill Milk Bar. We were allowed a healthy milkshake. This was the start of farm diversification. Powmill still exists and since our son started at St.Andrews University, we have re-newed this tradition and indulge ourselves with some superb home baking when we are delivering him from our home near Dumfries. The quality and choice has remained first class for fifty years and I believe hard to beat. Check it out! We are talking real home baking here and excellent coffee.
