Day I Found It

You drive west from the tearoom along a good and deserted road through a hillside studded with stands of old Scots Pine, where if you are lucky you can see black grouse, maybe capercailzie and most certainly red deer. You park at the road end under the Munro Stuchd an Lochain then either enjoy a walk along the loch side or, best of all, the high level ridge walk to the Munro top. In spring the hillside is alive with beautiful little white flowers of Anemone Nemorosa, among others. At the top you can enjoy glorious views towards Ben Nevis and the great cleft of Glencoe. Beneath you is a spectacular corrie with a tiny lochan nestling at its heart. Back in the car you make the short drive to the tearoom, where your reward is gorgeous home-baking with a choice of quality teas or coffee, ... More...
coffee, all properly served in china cups. No polystyrene here! And best of all, all this can be enjoyed down at the side of the magnificent River Lyon, in the setting of arguably Scotland's most beautiful glen. Perfect! Back...
