Day I Found It

It was January and a friend's birthday. They wanted a day out with a difference. We took them to Edinburgh on the train. They were gob-smacked going over the bridge at Berwick! Straight out of Waverley Station and there's so much to see and do. The Castle, the Cathedral, all the interesting bits down the Royal Mile like the People's Museum, the new Parliament Building, Holyrood House and more. Walk back up Princes Street and there's the Scott Monument and the galleries on the Mound, plus of course the shops! Slightly foot sore, we nipped into the Ramada Mount Royal Hotel for a cream tea. What a view!! The bustle of Princes Street, the Scott Monument, the Castle and the silhouettes of all the buildings along the Royal Mile. Wonderful! Even if the scones had been awful (and they ... they definitely weren't) it wouldn't have mattered. That view put the icing on the cake for us. Back...
